American Royal Arts Unveils Latest Dan Mackin/ Brian Wilson Collaboration, “Love and Mercy”

January 8th, 2010

Boca Raton, FL – Renowned artist Dan Mackin recently premiered his latest collaboration with Brian Wilson, “Love and Mercy,” announced American Royal Arts President Jerry Gladstone.

“Love and Mercy” was inspired by Wilson’s first solo album in 1988. When Wilson received the Kennedy Center Honor in Washington, D.C., the London Boys’ Choir appeared on stage to sing “Love and Mercy” to him. When a tribute show was done a few years ago at the Radio City Music Hall, the Harlem Boys’ Choir also sang this beautiful song to Wilson.

“The song is Brian’s beautiful message to humanity with which Wilson ends every concert,” commented Gladstone. “Dan Mackin conveys the same message of peace and harmony in his artistic interpretation of the song.”

Losing his ability to paint after the tragic death of his 14-year-old son, Mackin found that he was able to paint again when listening to the music of rock and roll icon and Beach Boy Brian Wilson. A friend mailed a letter to Brian Wilson, and the collaboration on a portfolio of art called “Paradise” followed. Mackin works directly with Wilson to bring Wilson’s music to canvas; together they combine the world of art and music into breathtaking pieces of fine art.

If Wilson sings about where you want to be, Mackin paints where you want to be. In the past, Mackin and Wilson have collaborated on artwork built around such songs as “Surfin’ USA,” “Surfer Girl,” “God Only Knows,” “In My Room,” “Don’t Worry Baby,” and “Surf’s Up.”

“We are so pleased to represent this Paradise Collection,” commented Gladstone. “The music of Brian Wilson and the art of Dan Mackin is a winning collaboration.”

Mackin/Wilson’s latest collaboration of art and music, “Love and Mercy,” premiered during Fantasy Fest in Key West last month.

Jerry Gladstone Announces The Common Thread Project To Benefit Charities

January 8th, 2010

December 2, 2009 – Boca Raton, FL – Founded by Jerry Gladstone, The Common Thread Project was created to provide people with the power to empower themselves and to give back to the community.

“I started The Common Thread Project for a single reason,” said Gladstone. “I want to help people reach their fullest potential. Not everybody can be a CEO, a professional athlete or a super achiever. That’s not what The Common Thread is all about. It is about helping people reach their fullest potential - whatever that may be.”

According to Gladstone, The Common Thread Project is two-fold. First, a book, titled, “The Common Thread.” The book will gather insight and inspiration, and will capture the emotion and mindset of more than 200 successful, well-known motivated individuals who have shared what it takes to overcome everyday adversities and obstacles. Because of their status and level of success, most people are unaware that these people have had to overcome the very same issues and hardships that they face as well.

A few of the people included in the book thus far are Sylvester Stallone, Joe Frasier, Muhammad Ali, Howard Stern, MMA fighter Chuck Liddell, Rolling Stone Magazine Contributing Editor David Wild, artist Charles Fazzino, Football Hall of Famer Leonard Marshall, Baseball Hall of Famers Gary Carter and Dennis Eckersley, Jefferson Airplane founder Marty Balin, Olympic Gold Medal Miracle on Ice Captain Mike Eruzione and Bill O’Reilly of The O’Reilly Factor.

“The idea behind The Common Thread is to inspire the reader and, through it’s content, provide the power to empower, thus giving them a valuable tool to help them overcome self-doubt and give them specific steps to get started on their own path to success,” said Gladstone.

“What inspired me to create this project is that I am surrounded by friends, family and business associates who, for whatever reason, have a difficult time achieving their goals, Gladstone added. “My hope is that The Common Thread will pave the way for them to become the best they can be.”

At the age of 26, Jerry Gladstone started his own business with $ 2000. By the age of 30, he made his first million. By the age of 40, he was able to retire, but chose to continue working. While he realizes monetary success is only a small dimension of what your life should be all about, he has maintained a very active life outside of business, including enjoying his family, which he feels is the most important thing life has to offer.
